All Time Best: Movie Argument
COULD THIS BE THE BEST MOVIE ARGUMENT OF ALL TIME?
Best movie arguments… I thought about it for a while and came up with my favorite and it’s no surprise it also happens to be one of my favorite movies as well. A Few Good Men.

Cruise vs Nicholson
Watching Lieutenant Daniel Kaffee ‘thunder away’ at Colonel Nathan Jessup was by far the best on screen arguments I’ve ever seen. It’s certainly among the top from a screenwriting perspective and how can you not find the phenomenal performances compelling. Every second of A Few Good Men leads to this epic confrontation and it delivers.
Kaffee vs Jessup. The all time best movie argument…
“Are we clear!”

I think all possible movie selections for “Best Argument” would come from a legal film. I’m hard pressed to think of any other than that. Most movies that contain arguments are brief and probably more bickering than a real argument. Even in a legal drama the lawyer does most of the talking and there isn’t a back and forth like you get with this film. I think Sorkin did a fantastic job in that regard. And Mr. Reiner did a wonderful job directing.
I can think of a great argument scene that is not from a lawyer movie. “You Can’t Handle The Truth” still wins hands down but the final scene of Fight Club has a great argument between Tyler Durden and Edward Norton`s character. Could also consider Oren Ishi vs. Tanaka an argument, and when an argument is settled by a head being chopped off it has to be considered.
