Rainy Sundays: Who Framed Roger Rabbit?
Each week, I pick a movie that people would enjoy watching on a lazy day and pretty much everyone has a Rainy Sundays list. A collection of favorites they turn to on lazy afternoons. This week, I add another to my growing list of classic movies.
A while back, I was speaking to someone about this week’s pick and learned something shocking which eventually led to this post.
The person in question had never seen:
Who Framed Roger Rabbit?
How is this possible!
I made a firm recommendation and watched it myself a few days later. Classic. Awesome. Spectacular.
With all the VFX movies being released today, it’s usually tough to go back and see older FX driven movies. The effects we used to regard as state of the art just don’t seem to pack the same punch when you revisit the films years later. Who Framed Roger Rabbit is definitely an exception as it still holds up today.
Seamlessly integrating live action with animated characters was an incredible achievement. This movie raised the bar technically but did so with an extremely entertaining story that’s definitely worthy of a few hours on a relaxing Sunday afternoon.
