With today’s release of The Avengers teaser trailer, the trio is complete. It’s time to find out which of the three massive 2012 Summer movies wins the battle of the teaser trailers.
The Amazing Spider-Man
July 3, 2012
Teaser trailers should do just that. Tease. This trailer is two minutes long and really sets up Peter Parker’s story well. It also gives us an amazing albeit brief glimpse at the Wall Crawler in action. Still, no mention of The Lizard at all?
Defining Moment: The long POV shot of Spider-Man on the rooftops.
The Dark Knight Rises
July 20, 2012
We all knew the first teaser for The Dark Knight Rises wouldn’t give us much. After all, the teaser for The Dark Knight didn’t include any shots from the film. This teaser sets up the third and final Batman from Christopher Nolan in a perfect way. Gotham is falling apart and the Caped Crusader must return. The stakes have never been higher! We even get a look at Bane! (Take that Spider-Man teaser trailer!)
Defining Moment: The last shot with Bane approaching a stunned Batman.
May 4, 2012
Now THIS is what we’ve all been waiting for! There’s no need to hide the heroes because we’ve already seen them. So this trailer gives us a tons of shots of Iron Man, Captain America and Thor in action and even gives us our first look at Hulk. Besides the menacing Loki, there really isn’t much to go on in terms of story but that’s the point. Show us just enough. This movie to years to build up and while it’s a virtual tie between this and The Dark Knight Rises for next summer’s crown, The Avengers wins the teaser war.
Defining Moment: Pretty much everything that included Tony Stark
Where do you stand? Which teaser wins?
