It’s pretty difficult to look passed the end of a legendary trilogy when The Dark Knight Rises is released next summer. Likewise, 4 larger than life heroes will assemble after years of hype. And how can you ignore a hero like Spider-Man returning to the screen? Today, I attempt to put aside the Bats, Spiders and Avengers to see what else the 2012 summer movie season has to offer. There are a couple picks that could go either way but I’ve got high hopes nonetheless.

Every movie fan has a must see list. We are always looking ahead at the following year’s big releases. Some even plan their holidays around movies that may or not get released on July 20, 2012…
My first instinct for this post was to create a top 10 list of my own and include any and all trailers that have been released thus far. My list would have included films like The Dark Knight Rises, The Avengers, The Hobbit, Django Unchained, Skyfall and more. But then I realized that my list is very similar to about 2.2 million other lists online.
Since I agree with 97% of them, I decided to avoid redundancy. Instead I’ve selected 10 of these lists from around the web and created a point system. It’s simple enough to understand. Each of the posts rank the top upcoming movies of 2012. Movies receive 1 point for a 10th place ranking, 2 points for 9th and so on with 1st place receiving 10 points.
