The Final Rainy Sunday: The Beauty Of Lazy Day Movies

Rainy Sundays was one of the first features I created for this blog.

It was about appreciated those lazy days when you put on your favorite movies and escape.

Who doesn’t love a good Sunday afternoon indoors watching movies?

Personally, my ideal Rainy Sunday includes a good drama, a comforter, a massive sandwich or pizza and some form of candy.  It’s even better when there’s enough time to sneak in a double feature.

What movies do you love to watch on rainy days?

After more than 30 picks, I’ve decided to move on so this will be the FINAL Rainy Sunday post.

Below you’ll find the complete Rainy Sunday Series.

Perhaps, I’ll resurrect the feature someday but I think I’ve made my point.  There’s nothing like a good movie on a lazy day.

Rainy Sundays Movie Picks

This feature has been a regularpart of this blog for a long time. The idea of a particular type of movie to watch on a lazy and rainy Sunday afternoon is universal but different depending on the movies you like.

I’m willing to bet that most people in my generation wouldn’t argue that this week’s pick fits the Rainy Sundays description to the letter.

The Muppet Movie.

The Muppet Movie 1979

Actually, I’m going to expand my prediction to pretty much anyone who loves Kermit, Fozzy, Gonzo and the rest of the lovable Muppets.

I hadn’t seen this movie in ages but my recent addiction to my old VHS tapes combined with the new Muppet movie announcement led to this wonderful trip down memory lane.

The Muppets will always be a cherished part of my childhood. The Muppet Show used to dominate my life as did their hilarious movies. (I almost wrote about The Great Muppet Caper)

Remember playing with old Muppet Baby toys I used to get in my happy meals?

For anyone who hasn’t sat down to watch Animal rock the drums lately… It’s time to dust off your old copies of these movies and give them a watch.

Even better, show them to young people who haven’t seen them and watch the smiles erupt.

The Muppet Show

In case you haven’t noticed, I’m a big fan of the Muppets.

PS: I honestly think I’ve still got some of those old toys in a box back home. Along with my Food Fighters. Remember Food Fighters! Those were awesome.

PS #2: This movie was made in 1979!!!  I was negative 4 years old back then!
