Greenlight My Movie, The Tolltaker Short Film, Supermen Of Malegaon and More
Have you watched a short film today?
GREENLIGHT MY MOVIE
“The Hollywood Pitch Festival consistently has the best turnout from Hollywood studios, production companies, and literary representatives. The team behind the festival is very committed to making sure that anyone with an idea gets it in front of real execs and reps, not just their assistants.”
This year the festival has added a pretty sweet online component where anyone can upload a video pitching their projects. It’s called Greenlight My Movie. Here is a breakdown from the official site:
“Have a short film, web series, book, pilot script or screenplay? Maybe you just have a movie pitch or an idea for a TV show. If you’re looking for representation or a buyer for your project, submit and/or pitch your material directly to Hollywood production companies, studios, agencies and management companies via Greenlightmymovie – for a guaranteed response!”
Check out both sites for more and good luck to all those pitching their dream projects!
THE TOLLTAKER SHORT FILM
This is an imaginative short film that combines animation and live action. It took filmmaker Steve Janas five years to complete the film. Here is a synopsis:
“It’s the summer of 1973, and eight year-old bobby Burke’s father has been MIA in Vietnam for three years. Bobby believes in the power of his magic charm bracelet – called the Safekeeper – to bring his dad back home, but he’s dismayed that his mother, who has begun dating a new man, appears to be moving on with her life. Now, to make matters worse, Bobby has come upon a demonic creature known as The Tolltaker living in a nearby storm drain, who seems intent on snatching the Safekeeper from Bobby’s wrist and keeping his father from him forever.”
Steve is currently trying to get a feature version of the short made based on a script that was a semi finalist in the Nicholl Fellowship Screenwriting Competition.

I’ll have more on this project later so keep checking back!
SUPERMEN OF MALEGAON
Here’s a cool story out of India. The film has won 15 awards from over 36 festivals and recently got a theatrical release. I think this looks like a really entertaining tale about dedicated filmmakers using any and all resources available to tell their story.

MUSICAL VIDEO – GLACIAL
Here’s a short film set to music directed by Giovanni Fumu with music by Jim Buzz.
