Have you watched a short film today?
THE LEGO STORY
Ohhhhh LEGO. Have you ever wondered who created the little bricks we all know and love? Check out this awesome animated short that tells the whole tale of how LEGO came to be.
SHORT FILM: SIGHT
I really enjoyed Sight created by Eran May-raz and Daniel Lazo. The effects are fantastic and it deals with the very relevant theme of technology and it’s impact on our social lives.

SCI-FI SHORT FILM TRAILER: PROTO
Here is the trailer for a fantastic looking short film called Proto. It was written and directed by Nick Pittom. Holy crap I wish I could draw/animate.
‘PROTO’ is a sci-fi action adventure, about a child-like, experimental robot, set in the robotics lab where he has been built. Although PROTO has been made to fulfil the ambitions of his creator, Prof. Andrews, he learns to find his own dreams and ambitions, and also the strength needed to realise them. (Official Site)
The visual effects in this short are fantastic. See for yourself:

THE EDITING OF STAR WARS
Author Linton Davies was kind enough to give me a peak at his book: The Editing of Star Wars: How Cutting Created a Classic. In it, he goes in depth illustrating various editing techniques used to create the film. It’s definitely worth a look if you’re into the ins and outs of editing. (Forgive the pun) Personally, I enjoyed the ‘Editor as Screenwriter’ section a lot.
You can learn more about where to find the book in both paperback and eBook formats at www.editingofstarwars.com.
BREAKDOWN REWARD
Here is the trailer for an independent feature film directed by Elias Georgopoulos.
In this action comedy set in Greece two German contract killers are hired to retrieve a lost treasure for their employer. Things go wrong when the treasure accidentally ends up in the hands of three small time crooks who were committing a burglary to pay off a debt to Munir, a local crime lord. The three friends use their connection with an underground informer to trade the treasure for cash. What they don’t know is that they’re being pursued by the contract killers and Munir’s thugs.
I highly recommend you check out the film’s impressive website.
